New study: A simple nasal wash reduces the risk of being hospitalized for COVID by >8X
But don't worry. Nobody will find out. However, it does show that the entire pandemic response was unnecessary and harmful. I just wanted to make sure you knew that.
Executive Summary
A simple nasal wash with a saline solution performed within 24 hours of symptoms done twice daily for 14 days can reduce the risk of being hospitalized for COVID by 8X.
This is much better than Paxlovid (only a 2.5X reduction if you believe the trial data).
This is much better than any COVID vaccine performs in practice and it’s much safer too.
Implications:
The entire pandemic response was completely unnecessary
This treatment is still being ignored by every mainstream medical institution
Universities should mandate students do nasal washes after getting COVID instead of taking vaccines.
Introduction
The article.
The paper: Rapid initiation of nasal saline irrigation to reduce severity in high-risk COVID+ outpatients
Note: I wrote an article earlier on Xlear, which is used to prevent the infection from attaching in the nose in the first place. The nasal rinse is a complementary solution.
Nasal rinses have been known for a long time to reduce the rate of hospitalization and death. This is simplest the latest peer-reviewed study showing that a simple saline nasal rinse with nothing else, is effective against the virus. This would apply to any other virus or bacteria as well, based on the mechanism of action. It’s also extremely safe.
Summary
All the pandemic mitigations were unnecessary.
Simply telling newly infected people to rinse their nose with a saline rinse if they got sick would have reduced the hospitalization rates to levels comparable to the flu.
The CDC is still not telling people to do this today even though there is no risk to anyone.
Every time my vaccinated friends get sick I tell them about the nasal rinse and the mouthwash (as per FLCCC). Not one of them has used it. But not to worry because their first, second and sometimes third mild cases only lasted two weeks or so.
Hi Steve! I am a big fan of Xylitol and wrote a previous version of this comment on your recent article highlighting its value in treating COVID-19. I would like to share a couple of experiences I have had relating to the content of this more recent article.
1. I believe that the most effective way to treat COVID-19 is to eliminate it in the nasal pharynx before it get into the lungs. One of the things that is immensely frustrating about COVID-19 is that the virus replicates in the nose, sinuses, and throat before it migrates into the lungs. For that reason, if you can eliminate it at that stage, it doesn’t turn into a severe condition. (At least in none of the incidences that I have observed). The fact that this was never taught to the American people is, I believe, one of the biggest acts of malfeasance by the federal govenment throughout the pandemic because you cannot under any circumstances argue this intervention brings harm to the individual (even masking is more dangerous).
2. As you mentioned, there are a variety of studies which show cleaning out the nose and throat prevents or treats COVID-19. This study is the newest, and I was peripherally involved with one that evaluated it at the very start of the pandemic.
3. I had chronic sinus issues for years. I found nasal irrigation to be the most effective solution for those problems. One of the life-changing discovery I made was that you can substitute salt for xylitol (Crystals). To clean the sinuses, you need some type of dissolved solute in order to pull matter out of the sinuses. It is very difficult to get a concentration of salt that can acomplish this but is not also irritating, where as Xylitol is not irritating in any concentration. Additionally, since Xylitol has antimicrobial activity against many of the things that can infect the sinuses, that is an added bonus.
4. Another life-changing discovery for me was finding the electrically powered(pulsating) sinuses irrigators. This makes it much easier to clean out the sinuses.
5. Depending on the stages of the COVID-19, I have observed significant improvement or resolution of the infection (typically this happens at the very start) by using an electric sinus irrigator with Xylitol and an disinfectant (e.g. dilute hydrogen peroxide), along with gargling the disinfectant, and putting it in each ear (I have only done this with hydrogen peroxide).
For anyone who wants to know some of the other simple approaches that government could have implemented to address COVID-19, rather than mostly pointless actions recommended by the CDC, they are summarized here:
