One call to Pete Buttigieg should be sufficient to resolve our little "problem."

Does anyone have a way to broker an intro?

What makes you think the pathetic little token can do anything? I know of nothing he has ever achieved, other than getting good grades in high school.

I can think of something that perhaps you could offer Mr Buttigieg. It's not anything I'd be prepared to do myself. I'm apparently "phobic" about some things but others may not be. Just putting the thought out there.

By the way, FAA began obscuring plane crash data on May 1, 2022.

Last record ID in on the data file download page https://av-info.faa.gov/dd_sublevel.asp?Folder=%5CAID contains the old date 20220501002239II137 (where the date is 20220501) from this link http://av-info.faa.gov/data/AID/fix/a2020_25.txt (2020 thru 2025) which is presented today as if up to 2023-01-22 but has really only been the 4,710 accidents and incidences from 2020-01-01 up to 2022-05-01 since then.

Why the lack of explanation? Info still exists at NTSB, why not say so? A competent agency with a stellar record to show and nothing to hide would make everything clear at the top of that page, no?

And why does the "Commercial Air Carrier Fatalities" link https://www.faa.gov/about/plans_reports/Performance/quarter_scorecard at https://www.faa.gov/data_research/accident_incident go [apparently] to the last publicly disclosed performance report instead, all the way back in 2016, instead of what the text claims to point to, a current (or any) actual fatalities report?

Their answer could be, no, all you have to do is go this page obviously at

https://www.asias.faa.gov/apex/f?p=100:93:::NO:::

and click each and every link separately, then piece them together, day by day.

Currently shows 9 fatalities in the last 10 days. Why doesn’t it make more clear for example that on 2023-01-17 there were also 19 aircraft-related injuries besides the 2 fatalities on that single day? (from the NTSB mdb file https://www.ntsb.gov/safety/data/Pages/Data_Stats.aspx)

Expand full comment

NTSB cause narratives often read sort of like:

Pilot failure to maintain clearance from a ground structure while navigating at higher than optimal speed in declination angle deviated from the destination flight path.

Translation: Crashed and likely unconscious

Expand full comment

I thought those narratives were meant to imply the general assessment "Pilot Error."

Expand full comment

Fascinating,

There is a very clear trend emerging to hide or apparently not record data eg still births in the uK and remarkably from circa May 2022 ,

Just coincidence….

Hi Gary,

Any ideas what the real reason was behind the strange 3 hour FAA outage 11th Jan a few weeks ago? I posted a comment about re FAA computer outage which is longest 3 hour outage since 9/11 on SKs post calling for Northrups resignation.

I fear that SK's prodding may land him in hot water.

https://stevekirsch.substack.com/p/us-federal-air-surgeon-susan-northrup/comment/12154197

Everything sinister like 9/11 has been tested as a simulation exercise , anyway to find out?

market-ticker had an explanation of the FAA outage in this post. search on 'NOTAM', the article is about covid & mandates, NOTAM is mentioned as an example when making a point:

https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=247865

Does anyone know if this is a good explanation?

Expand full comment

First off, it wasn't a three hour outage. It was much longer. The first hint something was going on was at 2028z (3:28 pm eastern time) on 1/10/23 and it lasted into the next morning. The nationwide ground stop, the first since 9/11, was issued at 1220z (7:20 am eastern time) and was canceled at 1407z (9:07 am eastern time) on 1/11/23. This info is available to the public if you know where to look.

The Canadian NOTAM failure happened on the same day, Tucker is a little off.

https://www.flightglobal.com/safety/canadian-notam-system-shutdown-comes-on-heels-of-faa-outage/151600.article

The Phillipines issue was a power issue, not a database issue.

“ Outage was result of unprecedented failure of both primary and secondary power supplies, according to Manila’s airport authority”

Are there random attacks happening (or even systematic?) I wouldn’t be surprised. The government does not hire the best of the best; in fact, the FAA changed hiring rules under Obama to increase “diversity hire” instead of hiring the best candidates. Trump did try and reverse that, but they are now questioning the reversal.

I also have an ex that works in IT for the National Parks Service. I can tell you with certainty they do not hire the best, and once they get tenure, it’s almost impossible to fire them.

Ransom payment perhaps?

True, that or else someone is holding countries hostage. Notice the huge spike in bitcoin (ransom?) price later that day as US Gov may have needed to purchase a lot and quickly. Canada and another country had the same scenario just days apart.

There have been so many “downages” in recent times which I believe were “tests”.....too many coincidences to not be related (I speak with 30+ years in the airline industry........) Hey -- Any advice on the legalities of just showing up at an airport with these petitions -- sans a boarding pass or ticket? I imagine it's frowned on.

You need to produce a little card or bitly link that can be handed to airline folk. I can't print pages of the petition and hand it around. Something inconspicuous for them to follow up.

I totally disagree with this proposal! This would be one more multi-million committee project that would never accomplish anything! The Federal Government (including the FAA) has neither the knowledge or inclination to produce a meaningful study of anything!

I just found out the following numbers of disease and injuries in DoD pilots from Senator Ron Johnson:

• 2016 - 265

• 2017 - 252

• 2018 - 164

• 2019 - 223

• 2020 - 2194

• 2021 - 2861

• 2022 - 4059

According to reports there are 36,000 DoD pilots, which means these numbers represent 20-25% of all military pilots injured in recent years.

Yourself, these doctors and pilots should be willing to have a discussion with Steve Kirsch and his colleague doctors and pilots who disagree. They are willing.

Why not meet and discuss the scientific, legal and medical issues? You can bring 30 doctors and pilots and Mr. Kirsch can bring the same - or whatever number of experts you agree on he will match. It would be great to work this all out among reasonable people who commonly use logic to solve problems.

https://stevekirsch.substack.com/p/how-to-contact-me

Expand full comment

Everything about Kirsch's argument is irrational, his "data" are nonsensical, his conclusions are wildly off base, and his recommendations are beyond preposterous. To fly 30 people somewhere to argue with the equivalent of the Flat Earth Society isn't going to happen. Rational physician and pilot groups are communicating with the FAA and DOT, who hopefully will continue to ignore Kirsch's ravings.

As I have said ad nauseam, while the data do not come close to supporting Kirsch's wild claims about the harm caused by the vaccines, let alone his unhinged, misdirected and unjustifiable assault on Dr. Northrup, I agree that the mandates were never justifiable. But the FAA had nothing to do with originating, implementing or enforcing those mandates, ever.

There are a myriad of medical treatments, approved by the FDA and accepted by the FAA for pilots, that have potential side effects. Within the past few years, just for example, new anticoagulants ("blood-thinners") like Eliquis, Xarelto and Pradaxa, were approved by FDA for life-threatening blood clots. FAA allows pilots to take those. All anticoagulants can, occasionally, cause serious bleeding, even catastrophic hemorrhage. Is is your contention that FAA should be involved in testing, treating, and regulating those, too? How about common blood pressure medications, all of which can have side effects? The logical conclusion of your position is that only perfectly healthy, probably 25-year-old pilots who have never been sick and have never taken any medication of any kind should ever be allowed to fly airplanes. Everything about Kirsch's and your premise is nonsensical.

Expand full comment

If your data and conclusions are the best than you should easily be able to inform the pilots and doctors who disagree using logic. Sounds like you are afraid they have more data that you or your colleagues could not explain.

It doesn't have to be 30 people flying somewhere - it could be just a few people in a virtual zoom environment.

Expand full comment

Steve - How about a petition from AIRLINE PASSENGERS, as well? Isn't the FAA liable for any/all injuries/deaths of passengers if the pilot(s) are incapacitated during a flight? And, passengers are not flying because they're afraid the pilots are too injured to perform properly.
