I do think you are doing good, but I am of fairly limited means. As it is we are sending $50 a month to my local church, supporting Haiti Christian Development Fund, $10 to the Highwire, $6 for a subscription to Seth Keshel's election integrity substack, and $5 for a Kansas election integrity substack.
Not to mention several newspaper subscriptions and all the other expenses of life, which include a kid about to go away to college, and impending retirement - with us not currently owning a house!
If Steve only posted cat pics and cat memes to his Substack going forward, becoming a paid subscriber now would be more than worth it given what he has done for the benefit of the public's health.

Is there a 501c3 organization? If none exists, you should register one. You will get significantly more funding from moneyed donors. For example, FLCCC is one such organization.
