I’ve submitted a request for ‘religious accommodation’, which is the technical term for what most call a vaccine exemption. I’m a Federal employee so the ball started rolling for us with an executive order last September. I’m waiting to hear if it’s been approved or not. I posted some info last week on the topic in response to interactions with another reader. I’ll see if I can figure out what article it was and repost here.
There will be many employers who honestly don’t understand the rules on this topic and other who do, but hope YOU don’t. Be prepared and don’t be intimidated! IF YOU KNOW YOU HAVE THE FACTS ON EXEMPTIONS, DON’T BACK NO MATTER HOW INTIMIDATING AN EMPLOYER TRIES TO BE. But that doesn’t mean you need to be angry or aggressive. Think about it, who is actually scarier, Barney Fife or the cool-as-ice state trooper who slowly strides up to you vehicle when he pulls you over?
