It’s networking together people with money who sincerely want to help. It has the appearance of being unfairly exclusive, but perhaps that impression would be lessened if people were also invited to contribute separately any amount they could afford and supplied streaming link to watch the speakers.
I can’t afford the dinner but I can volunteer to check people in or do other things to support this cause if I can stay and hear the speakers. I live in Dallas and would love to help in some other way!

To many readers here: I get it, that just the notion of a 2,500 per person dinner can rub one's fur the wrong way, but it's a darned good, time-tested way to raise money for a cause, and there's money in Dallas, and how wonderful if some can go to the work of the Vaccine Safety Research Foundation. I don't know the details, I am not involved in this foundation, but my understanding is that foundations with 501c 3 status need to have a broad base of donors.
