My son has an ASD and ADHD diagnosis but he never had any regression after any jabs, no febrile convulsion or fever, he has advanced language, high IQ, no stimming, no toe walking, not a fussy eater, has eye contact. He does have food intolerances (meat, dairy, eggs, gluten) and low zinc, high copper (addressing this with supplements/creams. Out naturopath says he has poor gut health - trying to address this also with cod liver oil and probiotics.
Most of the kids I know with ASD don't have language delay, some have motor quirks that I know are part of the presentation. With my own son there are other several confounding factors - extreme suicidal/manic reaction to the SSRI Lovan at 8, then put on antipsychotic Risperidone for a short time, then stimulant Ritalin for 2 years. Off this for 1 year now. Also he has experienced trauma as a result of this experience. He had all the required jabs plus meningococcal and flu. Obviously I deeply regret this and he will not have any more.
So my question is, what is the evidence that vaccines, esp the aluminum and other adjuvants, may have contributed to my son's diagnosis? Can someone point me to a Dr, book, paper or presentation on this please?
Also, based on my observations, it seems the explosion in ASD is in fact the Asperger's type? Or is it that those more severely impacted with post V regression and just so hidden that we don't see them? Quite possibly.
That's the nub of my query - clearly the explosion in ASD is huge, yet in these "vaccine risk aware" circles that I now inhabit, most of the examples are of typical children regressing severely post jab.
My son was typically developing with behavioral problems slowly emerging - massive meltdowns, difficulty with change, aggression, defiance, difficulty with turn taking, no filter, now at almost 13 he is very anxious, refuses school, isolates himself, impulsive eating leading to weight gain, limited interests.
For my son, I am really not sure if he actually has ASD. And I have read much from the "dissident psychiatry" group (Drs Breggin, Timini, Goertz etc) who state there's no evidence ADHD is a real disease.
So I'm just totally confused. My son is not doing well at all. Our life is so hard.
My current working hypothesis is his impairments are a result of vaccine injury (but insidious rather than acute), damage from psych medications, trauma from being made psychotic from these medications and the violent behaviour they caused, likely some shitty parenting from us as we struggled to cope (and still do), and maybe a genetic predisposition.
I really hope my post makes sense in terms of what I am trying to understand, and this wonderful community can point me in the direction of resources to help, as how can I help him if I don't understand the cause/causes?
In the 90s when kids had lots of vaccines with mercury in them, most kids with full blown autism couldn't talk. The ones that COULD talk were diagnosed with Asperger's or PDD-NOS instead. My older daughter (born 2000) had PDD-NOS. We were able to greatly reduce most of her symptoms.
I think a lot of the kids who are diagnosed with autism today have PANS/PANDAS as their main issue. It has to do with an infection entering the brain and never clearing. One of the top PANS/PANDAS doctors is Dr. Miroslav Kovacevic. He's one of the leaders in the field.

My younger child (born 2006) suffers from this. She has high functioning autism, ADHD, and ODD among her diagnoses. Some defining characteristics of PANS/PANDAS are poor math ability, poor handwriting, OCD and the child being unwilling to eat many kinds of foods.
