I agree that true friendship will survive these disagreements. But I think what has been hard for many, myself included, is experiencing the the illusion of friendship crumbling. People you would have thought were friends and relatively reasonable individuals have surrendered to fear and mass psychosis.

I agree it's extremely difficult. I've lost friends and family because I don't follow the narrative. It does hurt to come to the realization of the loss of these relationships. My neighbor down the street is heartbroken because her parents refuse see her or her kids because of this. It's insane what is going on. Sometimes, it takes something like this to show people who their real friends are, unfortunately. In order to move on you have to acknowledge the pain and let it go, difficult, I know. I would rather have friends that didn't care what position I held on anything, than to hang out with people who have conditional requirements, such as being vaccinated. These conditional things are not even logical.
I think it is good to acknowledge the pain. Maybe the pain is indicative that we still have love and empathy to give to others, which is a welcome difference from the world we find ourselves in, a world managed by insatiable god-complexes.

Clearly my friends weren’t “true friends” but that realization still hurts
