I am a devout Catholic. Been trying to fit this all together in my mind. I’m beginning to think the Big Bang did occur (Catholics believe that God created the Big Bang), but the pieces that formed from the Big Bang (the universe) are held together thru electricity mostly (not gravity, which can be seen as a weak electrical force). I think the electricity article is another piece to the whole puzzle. Links to St. Aquinas’ Five Ways. Also fascinating is the more recent scientific research on the Shroud of Turin. What caused the special 3D imprint on the cloth? Only current explanation is a nuclear explosion when Christs body “disintegrated” at the moment of his resurrection. Again, energy. Fascinating stuff.
