I’ve been a dentist for over 30 years. I’m use to wearing them in clinical situations, where it stops splatter. When I’m done with a procedure, off it comes. The mere thought that they would have effectiveness in preventing Covid is laughable. Now I despise these cultists that have made mask wearing part of their ritual.

Also, I do think several patients are “done” with masks. I even have some that say “ doctor, you don’t have to wear a mask” while I’m working on them. I kindly reply-“ well, this way you don’t have to smell my bad breath “😉. Anyway, I appreciate their sincerity.
Yes, my dentists always wore masks, and that always seemed to be the reason---just to prevent splatter. The craziness started when some offices started making patients wear masks to the office, only to then have them remove the mask during the dental exam. This is tantamount to wearing the mask into a restaurant until one sits down, only to then take the mask off for the remainder of one's stay.
🙄. All the Covid cooties hang out at the restaurant doorway so you can eat comfortably. Then hop back on ya when you head for the door. They are polite that way.
