Google--the biggest "opponent" to "misinformation" yet they let a spammer exploit their API to create addresses and send what is essentially SPAM. Hey, it's only 2023 after all. Email and computing is still in its infancy...

If it's a 3-letter agency, then keep in mind that they have access to black budgets and indirectly to the printing press (via rubber stamp of all "national security" legislations). I hope Steve's proposed monetary penalty mechanism manages to remain robust vs bad actors who have deep pockets.

Perhaps allowing PAID subscribers only is a half-good temporary measure. Someone should write a script to delete those comments.
