Comments are now disabled on all my articles until Substack fixes the spamming problem
Substack has a vulnerability that is being exploited by one disgruntled person who wants to promote inappropriate content on my Substack.
I’ve temporarily disabled comments on all my articles because there is a spammer putting in inappropriate comments every few seconds in every one of my articles.
I have an email into the CEO of Substack to resolve this problem ASAP.
All of your comments are STILL there, it’s just that nobody can see them. They will be restored when the problem is resolved, which I hope will be soon.
I will let you know the progress on this.
What he is doing is generating an infinite number of unique gmail.com addresses, then posts his comment, then uses a new address for the next one. This happens every few seconds.
I have over 1,000 articles and it is not feasible to make comments available to only paying subscribers (read only for non paying subscribers) because there isn’t a global comment override for this: just on/off.
Probably Dr. Fauci. He's got time now.
That spammer is obnoxious! You have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and he is ruining their experience commenting.
Perhaps allowing PAID subscribers only is a half-good temporary measure. Someone should write a script to delete those comments.
Maybe that's what you are doing? I believe I am a paid one IIRC
