We live near the Alps and so I was thinking, we could run into Switzerland ! Sounds funny now, but at the time I was utterly petrified. Italian TV was FULL of people spewing vitriol and hate towards us the unclean. It truly was the most horrible time of my life. (and I'm 62 so no spring chicken 😉). They were threatening camps for the unjabbed and wishing us the most awful deaths. I will NEVER FORGIVE OR FORGET - I just can't.
