That's because Apple started using random mac addresses in iOS devices. Mac address randomization was also added in Android, Windows, and Linux and others. That’s why a search may not find anything and there are no names. Mac address randomization was started to avoid being tracked by a mac address. It's a good thing.

Random MAC addressing is a HORRIBLE idea and violates every principle of a well managed secure network. You can easily have duplicates!!! Which then need to be blocked after spending time figuring out wtf is happening.

I don't know of any problems with duplicated mac address on phones. It's more likely to happen with a network environment. You would rather allow everyone to be tracked by anybody using your mac address? If there was no randomization you would be complaining about organizations tracking you via you mac address.
