Bless your heart, I'm originally from NC, for having to live in the once beautiful state of Oregon. I also had a similar experience in Montana. I dutifully but grudgingly donned my mask to shop at the local market. As I entered the market, I could feel a distinct tickle of a cat hair on my nose which was trapped in my mask As I shopped for my few items, the tickle became increasingly worse, making me sniffle with a mild cough. By the time I checked out and made it to the door, the sensation was so intense that I whipped off my mask and started coughing uncontrollably. Those who were about to enter out little market scattered in all directions! It was a wonderful moment.
And yes, more and more are wearing masks again here.
During the worst of the plandemic, there was a young couple who I witnessed fairly frequently wearing hats, sunglasses, respirators(!!!) and gloves while grocery shopping. Once, they were checking out across from me. I couldn't resist asking the checker what in the world WERE these aliens. He just shook his head.
Those who were about to enter out little market scattered in all directions!
LOL. . . .I know the feeling.
I have TERRIBLE allergy problems with grass and trees during summer
I often results in sneezing etc.
As people back off I say "Just calm down, it is NOT COVID, it is grass and tree
pollen"
However, a rather serious part of wearing masks was when it created elevated carbon dioxide levels
When I described to my naturopath how I felt when required to wear one **for any lengthy duration he ordered blood tests over a 6 month period and each time
was same
My primary blew it off as not possible
**I would wear one 2 hours when I was at an appt at VAMC
Portland. By time I headed to the parking garage I almost felt as though
absolutely. . . but it is the cringeworthy quality it brings out in those around me
when I sneeze (even though I carry a cotton handkerchief) that
always makes me reply "Just calm down. . . ."
I try very hard NOT to say anything but I just can't manage keeping quiet
The masked brigade behave like I ought to be carrying a little bell, much like lepers were required to do in antiquity. . .sounding an alarm to warn those around them.

I have a suggestion. Have a T shirt made that says "I have allergies, not Covid"
