I’m tired of it all. My immediate family members are so over the moon with a new variant to talk about and stress about. They’re looking forward to more vaxxes and more mask mandates. They love this new way of life. I could vomit. After many cross words, expressions of disbelief, and WTF moments, I’ve decided to call it quits. I’ve changed my will and refuse to gather with any of these crazy meathead screwballs.
This comment really made my morning. Dang, its funny but liberating too. For two days, I've been carrying on a dialog in my head on how to snap my own immediate relatives out of their trances, only deepened by Omicron. Your wry remarks helped me to realize I simply cannot muster the energy. With luck, I'll recover from my weariness before the Pi variant and failed Omicron booster drives them irretrievably into the Metaverse.
Many reasonable people are around ! In the short period from summer where I invited the old friends and they refused to come, a bout of depression, and now 5 months later, I got a whole new circle of friends. REAL ones, not those that worship a needle.
That is right ! Even last year, when everyone was on lock down, the Big ones were partying away. The politicians forbid us to meet for Thanksgiving and Christmas, then departed on their private planes to feast with their families. No one is to meet more than 4 people at once. But they rent a restaurant to have a nice dinner together. No one is to travel, but the Dutch king and his wife went on vacation, And so on and so on, and all the while stupid people sit in their houses biting their nails in frustration...
