I think humanity has always been insane. 90+ percent must be told what to think and how to act. When the primary influence is mostly benevolent things go well. Christianity, for all its ills, worked very well for that. With it much diminished, people have either lost their moorings or signed on to far, far worse ideologies. That 90+ percent seems more like dumb animals than human beings, they never use their God-given abilities to make sense of things. I've always thought the idea we are living inside a simulation is silly. I'm beginning to wonder since the world seems mostly populated by NPCs.
