Well, DeSantis was NOT "anti-vaxx" from the beginning. I listened to DeSantis when they came out in 2021 and he encouraged people to get vaccinated (face palm). Of course he, like Trump, was NEVER going to mandate vaccination, but he didn't start changing until Dr Ladapo began looking into the facts. DeSantis stood up against lockdowns, forced masking and the like, but discrediting that BS stuff was easy. DeSantis still has some growing to do, what he has done in FL against CRT/ESG/CEI is also easy stuff, particularly when you have Chris Rufo doing the heavy lifting. He should stay in FL and run in 2028. He has also done a few bad things, like signing that recent "hate speech" bill, that he must repent of.

It's all relative. Yes, DeSantis was pro-vaccine early on and even pro-lockdown for a while. The key point is that he CHANGED his views as evidence became available. Another person who did this is ... Steve Kirsch. Tucker Carlson didn't speak out enough against the lockdowns and vaccines early on .... but he also changed his tune and quickly made up for his earlier errors or silence by putting himself out there by himself as a vocal critic. I think I'm the only person who must have read those recent letters DeSantis has sent to the FDA and CDC, which make clear that DeSantis (and his surgeon general) are now big-time skeptics of the vaccines. In fact, they are taking on the FDA and CDC on this issue.

I could contrast DeSantis to my state's Republican governor, who castigated the "unvaccinated" and kept us in lockdowns far longer than DeSantis.

Why are so many people moving to Florida if DeSantis is so awful?

That's true ... which is why it's so important to support the extremely rare politicians who CHALLENGE the bogus and dangerous narratives.
