I looked at the first author and his funding comes from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. What a coincidence. There is a book called the Orphans of Davenport. It's been known since the 1940's that the quality of infant care can add 40 IQ points and it can take 40.

a 2YO baby does not have an IQ

Err How would you test an 18 month old baby for IQ...This does not make sense?.........Roger

I also wonder what exactly is the testing?

Oh dear. And I thought it was just journalists and politicians who suffered an IQ drop since spring 2020.

Collateral damage to them.

Here is a report from 60 minutes on the aftermath of the 1976 swine flu lie. It starts at 15 seconds from play as it is an old video from someone that uploaded it to Youtube. https://www.joshwhotv.com/video/.ByUo/60-minutes-mike-wallace-exposes-the-1976-swine-flu-pandemic-vaccine-injuries-1

Our granddaughter was born at the tail end of 2020, when the hospital rules had changed enough to allow her dad (and me!) to be in the delivery room; when we were in the room alone with the baby, no masks were required. Thankfully, my daughter didn’t have to wear a mask much during pregnancy, and she wasn’t one to wear one in the house with the baby. I was shocked at how many folks did exactly that though. My theory is that between the oxygen depravation for pregnant mothers and the added handicap for the baby of not seeing faces for verbal cues from mom and visitors, they were set very far back from kids born in 2019 and prior. Babies desperately need cues from facial expressions from day 1.

Combine that with the muffled voices of those near them in masks, the hysteria in general from people who watch non-stop cable news, the stress in the air, etc etc...and it is pretty easy to see how this could have happened.

yes, I have heard that wearing asks causes us to breathe back in carbon dioxide and it damages the brain.

Just Mary. Great post. I think all your points are completely valid regarding the lower IQ in babies.

if schools would go back to teaching penmanship and spelling and reading and classes for kids to learn how to cook and skills they have to have as a adult

I bet adults are dumber as well. The opening scene of the movie Idiocracy explains a lot.

The cause of the IQ drop could very likely have to do with Mom's wearing a mask during pregnancy. Neurologist Margarite Freisz-Brisson warned of hypoxia-induced neurodegeneration and cognitive impairment from masks, such as seen in surgeons during long surgeries. My research team discusses the mechanisms of hypoxia-induced brain damage as well as damage to the blood-brain barrier here:

I wonder if the performance loss measured at this early age will generalize, and cause a drop in long-term general intelligence ("g" factor) for affected generations; or if this just means a drop in specific measures of performance which thereby become decoupled from "g".

Let's hope this just affects specific measures of performance, and that the affected generations can recover the progress they missed.

That's the trillion dollar question. I wish they talked about the categories that show the biggest drops and discuss whether they indicate brain damage which cannot be made up, or if it's just skills that have been delayed and can be made up.

But that was the whole idea, wasn't it. It's a war on children.

Think a little bigger: War on mankind.

Of course oxygen deprivation as a result of wearing masks (sometimes two of them) has nothing to do with this....
