Postcard from 1875 argues that small pox vaccine caused an epidemic...

One of the points the card raises is:

"In Birmingham last year nearly 600 persons, mostly vaccinated, died of Small Pox, although the Public Vaccinator received, in 1873, in fees and awards for his successful vaccinations £1,173. !"

*£1,173 in 1873 would be around £1.5M in today's money, or around $2m in average earnings value.
