We all need to ask whether if we revolt, what new government would we have? Is the framework of our government the problem or the fact that we haven't been involved, complacent, and wanting others to be do the work of government? If we got involved and ousted those corrupt in government, would it be the best remedy?

Yes!!! Well put! Glad to see that someone here has studied history. The governments of the world have become morbidly top heavy. All we need to do is stand back and watch it implode in on itself.

My plan:

I have a small homestead. I have all the food I need and two, yes two, solar systems. I have wood for wood heat for 7 years. You get the picture.

I believe the "base" case is a complete collapse and you are on your own for 7 years.

Yes, I agree that we're not looking at a few weeks or months without power, or food on the shelves. However, I don't discount the power of numbers for a second. The most competent of special forces operatives know that doing it completely alone is a fool's errand. Even so, when most people are reluctant to keep the batteries charged in their flashlight or even replace a lighter until it runs out of gas, one has to do as much as possible on their own. If there's one thing I know for sure, it is that calories will be worth their weight in gold.

I tried for a year to get an intentional society together. I failed. So, this is what I am doing and it may or may not work. However, I know city dwellers are dead within weeks.

People living in cities are already the walking dead. They're zombies, but then just about anyone who spends time in front of the boob tube isn't much better regardless of where they live. I live out in the country, and there won't be an armadillo, raccoon, possum, ferret, dog, cat or wild boar left after a few weeks. People are planning for the best and hoping for the best because they can't shake the cognitive dissonance that is so pervasive among those who watch the teeee veeee. The news can come on showing Armaged├│n, but as soon as they cut to a commercial boasting the new BOGO free cheesy stuffed crust pizza, most people can't even remember what they were watching.

I agree. To survive my family will have to fight for it. I didnt say I know I will be successful, I just am going for it. There is paradise on the other side. A life full of everything and void of human.
