New Zealander here. The biggest irony is that while the police won their anti-mandate case, they violently tore down the anti-mandate protest at Parliament (our version of the Canadian Convoy). Literally at the same time. Same week. Good for them for winning their case but sad we didn't see many of them take a stand on behalf of the movement.
There were some that refused the jab and were protesting with us in plain clothes. NZ police known to be so gentle. They don't generally carry guns on bodies like I'm US. Many were shocked to see them turn into storm troopers so easily (not me). I've never hoisted a thin blue line flag and don't plan on it!
It's morphing into an apartheid state. I like to be on the winning side so l've darkened my face with shoe polish and changed my name to Rangi. "Hey cussie bro, Howzit? I will need to practice that.
Fortunately, there are many border crossings and hopefully they can find one that's not heavily guarded. But I put nothing past Castreau in trying to keep Canada's citizens prisoners in their own country. Look what they continue to do to Pastor Artur Pawlowski.

If the police in Tokoroa are any yardstick, irony is not something readily understood.The bods in blue are thicker than a water logged lump of 6x2.
Police everywhere are loyal to the people who pay their pensions. Keep that in mind before hoisting the "thin blue line" flag.

Thank you. It's been pretty rough but now NZ rolling back many restrictions. (Nothing to do with the protest. At all.)
At least unvaccinated can leave NZ, not like Canada, where the unvaccinated seem to be stuck unless they make an illegal run for the border. :(
