What they (the globalist string pullers) understand is that most people will return to/take up a habit, addiction, distraction or escape...if they do two things.
1) Deny you access to it.

Movies: Theaters were shuttered during the lockdowns. Hollyweird was close to bankruptcy and even though they shifted to streaming products, they were still hurting.
