It reliably informed me that yes, we'd been struck by an Exocet missile on May 21st, and two of my colleagues had been killed. The problem is, I don't recall this happening. I even checked the diary I kept at the time, and there was no mention of this incident. I think I must have been either sleeping OR we were busy playing deck hockey and were so involved in the game that we didn't notice anything untoward.
"During my naval service, was my ship HMS Yarmouth damaged during the 1982 Falklands Conflict?"

No, HMS Yarmouth (F101) was not damaged during the 1982 Falklands Conflict. The ship played an active role in the war, including escort duties, naval gunfire support, and assisting HMS Sheffield after it was hit by an Exocet missile. However, Yarmouth did not suffer any direct damage from enemy action during the conflict.
Paul Cardin—I have similar absurd stories of total fictions from ChatGPT. I don't bother with it myself. But people tell me things. Seems everyone and their uncle's monkey wants to talk to ChatGPT, but me, I'd rather channel the spirits in my vacuum cleaner (not).
All that said, Steve Kirsch— bravo to you for persisting. The human beings who should be participating in open discussions and debates went AWOL a long while ago— your Substack provides a golden record of all that— and many of those people need to be held accountable before the law for fraud, for battery, and for murder.

Deck hockey can be very distracting!
