The KETO Crowd, although smaller than Diabetes, would love this thing (check Ketones)

I actually think this is a great opportunity. Think beyond T2D. I’m sure there are more tests that are in the process of being made that will be made for home use in the coming future. Somebody mentioned pregnant mothers. That’s market by itself. Im sure there are others.

Jup, it's possible! I also wanted to tell this to Steve. I would have recommended approach of Dr. Neal Barnard, he wrote a book about it. Whole food plant based is his approach. Did this with my father, he got of medication within a month

Nonsense! Read Paul Saladino MD material. Plant based is horrible.

Mwoah i don't think so

Looks intriguing, but I think (unfortunately) many folks will think “Theranos” when they see it.

This is fantastic and also a great way to use your substack. Well done.

Agree wholeheartedly. Imagine the potential of people using substack, etc. this way. Well done, Steve!

This would be an excellent product for pregnant women

He should check out InventRight. They teach people how to licence their idea. You can get a good idea of their work on YT or Inventors Groups of America (same people behind it).

Steve I've been asking you on many forums to offer rewards for inside information. Whistleblowers, recordings videos any information that shows the corruption that's going on. I don't know if you've seen my suggestions. If you just answer and say you don't want to do it then I will stop asking.

I wonder, my 2 yo son is about the start growth hormone, and I’m terrified of the pain he’ll have every day until puberty. Could that technology be used for something like growth hormone shots? I was told it’s similar to a lancet pen for diabetics.

Injections for a 2 yo are unfortunate but GH is injected via a very fine diabetic needle or can be. It is a water based drug and does not need to be injected into muscle. Subcutaneous injections aren’t that bad. For a 2 yo yes 😌

Post on some FB diabetes groups.

No, not trying to sell the product. Trying to transition the company.

This is who I think you should contact: Sami Inkinen of Virta Health

https://www.virtahealth.com/about

Virta co-founder and CEO Sami Inkinen wins his age group at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships and finds out he has pre-diabetes that same year.

Unsatisfied with the conventional wisdom of “exercise more and eat less,” Sami digs into the science of type 2 diabetes, leading him to Drs. Stephen Phinney and Jeff Volek, renowned experts on the science of carbohydrate restriction and metabolic health.

I know - as someone with a T1 relative IMO those are some potential people that might be interested in the company as they are familiar with the products and their usefulness/need. He might find someone interested in transitioning there especially in this market where people might want to go out on their own considering how companies are mandating their employees to do things the don’t want to do.

Take it to shark tank

that would be a losing proposition. Need management team, not idea.

They partner with the inventor and will manage the product and also invest in new inventions. I’ve seen several episode that happened this way plus he will get tons of free publicity.

I understand very little about this, but do hope he has strong IP protection. It seems like the kind of thing that I might see with some strange Chinese brand name sold very cheaply on Amazon.

yes, very patentable.

He has to have the patents. I hope he already has all of the legal stuff taken care of.

sounds fascinating, but since T2D is 95% reversible with diet and lifestyle, who would want this?

Expand full comment

I am off meds and a Ketovare, it isn't really reversible with diet that I know of, please correct me. More like controlled?

Expand full comment

Works with T1D too

Expand full comment

Why does it kill so many people? Just lazy ugly people? GTFO!

Expand full comment

If it is so reversable, why do so many still die from T2D?

Being on the diet is not easy. I don't even know if it would work for everyone, for me it did but I have to keep carbs under 50 grams a day AND exercise. Its not for sissies ;)

Doctors and nutritionists still giving lousy advice. I was to the stage of losing my eyesight. Online videos saved my life. Back to a normal a1c now and don't even wear glasses. The doctor who wanted to shoot me up with insulin and prescribed drugs congratulated me, but didn't even ask what I had done. You'd think he'd be interested to pass along the information to other patients.

What videos did you watch?

I went off sugar 5 days ago with the help of amino acids (Julia Ross books). Cheap. Easy. I haven't struggled. Don't miss it at all.

What do you mean you were losing your eyesight? Night struggles? Harder to read small print?

I been Keto for two years. Lots of voices. Eric Weston has been doing it the longest that I know of. Dr Boz. Dr Ben Bikman. Dr Ken Berry. Dr Paul Mason Dr Eric Berg Dr Tim Noakes. Tim Noakes was sued for Malpractice in South Africa for offering advice for a Low Carb diet and won! There are many more, just my top favorites.

Eyesight, that's where I first noticed it. I have to read for my work and kept having to run to the dollar store to get progressively stronger reading glasses. It was pretty scary how fast my vision, which had always been perfect, started to go. I recommend the Beat Diabetes channel for an idea of which foods affect blood sugar levels. He and his wife do tests on all kinds of foods. Carbs = sugar. For me it was getting off carbs almost completely, so Keto. Then one meal a day helped. That would have been impossible without increasing fat intake. All my blood work comes out fantastic these days. 1 year later, I'm also down a hundred pounds. Lots of channels which can help with that. For the science, Low Carb Down Under is a good place to start. And Drs. Berg and Ekberg as well.

because it's hard work to change lifestyle

It’s easier to get someone to change their religion, then it is to get them to change the way they eat.

Ya, because the "food" people eat, the highly processed crap is HIGHLY addictive. Big Food is not our friend, just like Big Pharma is not our friend.
