Because in American Civil Rights law "religious belief" includes any sincerely held moral conviction. Like the idea that it is wrong to lie. Wayback machine is no safe haven, the archived websites can get scrapped too...the World Economic Forum recently did that, deleted content from their vision 2030 project which was rather bad PR and also the archived wayback machine websites are gone.
The Internet Archive is a non-profit based out of SF. Unlike Wikipedia, I don't believe that people or companies can wantonly delete what they don't like out of the wayback machine.
