Many people look to some authority or knowledgeable friend as a compass in times when it is difficult to decipher all that they are being told. Unfortunately, these authorities and knowledgeable people are seemingly the most vulnerable to the false narrative.
It is not the authorities who are completely to blame when they honestly believe their drivel. It is everyone else who did not think for themselves. It is not so complicated that most people could not see the forest through the trees if only they had more confidence in themselves.
