At least two exploratory studies (done decades ago) demonstrated no difference in the outcome for patients between those operated on by surgical teams with masks and those operated on by teams w/o masks. Surgical masks protect only the surgical team members from splashes of biological fluids from the patient. It seems nobody is interested in performing full-fledged studies because the surgical mask use by the medical establishment is now a tradition, and masking up prior to surgery is akin to a religious ritual.
I know most on this blog are mask averse. But, after studying research and finding they are useless, I also found there are degrees of useless, it's not black and white. It depends on time, air filtration, viral load, immune system, type of material in mask, fit, particle size, etc. Most particles don't go past the throat and nose, but one would have to disinfect the throat and nose, and eyes, N95 masks can't be washed, so I don't know how handing out a few masks can help the public.
I wonder how the Cambridge mask (.com) fits in with your analysis? No one mentions this one but it is an N99 and is washable and independently tested. It needs to fit well, which it usually does. It's not 100% protection, but better than other masks, especially since it has a vent (or no vent option). Of course, that won't protect others, but it does protect the wearer. If one covers the vent with a surgical mask to protect others, it's still easier to breathe than with no vent. If one wants protection for themselves, it works better than others. In wildfire smoke, I can't smell a thing; but it works for viruses, too. See their certificate of analysis. BTW, in doctors office, they usually sort for symptoms. So, the level of spread is lower if asymptomatic. Inside other public places, who knows?
All the avoidance of contact with others weakens our immune systems and makes us more vulnerable when we finally do have exposure. All mandates need to be stopped forever, that includes the pre-covid ones. Covid has exposed the fallacy of the whole vaccine program.
One thing that I don't get is why governments don't at least order masks from American companies? Wouldn't it make more sense to support American businesses? Still, if we must wear masks, I think that they should at least express our dissatisfaction with having to wear them. I just ordered one that says, "Made in Wuhan China." Perhaps that will wake some people up!!
Oh, I've pointed it out, and so many others have as well. Dr. Rancourt is one of many who did so very early on. We have decades of RCT's to prove they are relatively useless unless in a controlled hospital setting and used by trained professionals.
Captured soldiers & slaves were forced to wear masks by the Ottoman Turks, as the Ottomans found it made the captured more submissive, docile and much more easier to control. So forcing people to submit to wearing masks is indeed a Control Mechanism.
Only really low iq programmed cretins would believe any mask outside of a gas mask would/might work. And even those, ppl/soldiers are trained in how to wear them properly.
