Ha, didn’t know “Mad World.” Here in the U.S. Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” was the song everyone knew. Great you were able to write that song and record it! Kind of a downer, but what you put in the song needs to be said.
As for meI wrote new lyrics for Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” — see link here http://howtosee2020.com — and I don’t shy away from saying “vaccine” (makes a nice rhyme with “spike protein”) but for some reason I ended up avoided using the word “mask.” It’s a lot more light-hearted. It’s more about preserving freedom than avoiding death. But if you’re into this kind of stuff check it out. I really need to record it though! Thanks for inspiring me!
