I fought legalizing pot dispensaries in a city about 1/2 hour south of Seattle. There aren’t many here in Wa. It was David & Goliath for sure, and the city has its own homeless and high crime areas, etc. The voters voted NO. It was so amazing. I live in a city that does now. I’ve seen the negative effects from it. I fight the banking reform they want, etc. We never see the taxes that were suppose to supplement projects, help schools. Etc. Just like alcohol and lottery. I never see anything from the money it takes in from it. City’s buy into the extra tax incentives but they’ll never see it. Also, the black market totally moves in & takes all the customers away with lower costs. We’ve had horrible robberies at these “ high security” places too. They promised no extra crime around them & ample security w/ cameras. Now, they want to use taxes from the sales to pay for armed guards. There’s goes ANY benefit from it. 🙈 Looking into this industry was first time I realized our gov. agencies are incompetent & not regulating anything.
There’s plenty of people that would take a stand against these elite ding-dings. I’m thinking it’s crucial to take advantage of our Constitution & Bill of Rights, before it’s no longer admissible in court. While there are still judges that aren’t corrupt & can’t be influenced by money or power. They are out there. Anything that can get on mainstream media is worth doing. (Not violence of course) Conservative to more independent radio stations in Seattle are starting to be open to vaccine & booster conversations. This has got to trickle into tv stations eventually. Nothing has happened by accident right? We need to get that message out & get people to start “ imagining” their world is being manipulated. Whatever the the “ new fear” is, we need to combat that with truth. Almost like rewiring minds that believe all this nonsense. But this shouldn’t take up all our energy. People watch people.

Now police are prevented in WA from pursuing suspects in cars. Lawlessness is the goal, but of course the politicians say it is to reduce police brutality. How does pursuing potential criminals increase brutality? Police are considered guilty until proven innocent. Seattle is a cesspool of drugs and vagrants. We can thank Bill Gates and Newsom’s twin Inslee for destroying a once beautiful state. As your neighbor, I totally understand and feel for you. The so-called "police pursuit" law, passed in 2021 as part of a bundle of police reform legislation, said police can't give chase to suspects in cars unless they have probable cause of a violent crime or sex crime. The idea was to limit the number of deaths that happen during police pursuits. They are working to change it. Stupid, stupid law!
Inslee IS Newsom’s wanna-be! When Cali. does something, we have to do it. Inslee even held mask mandates the longest of every state except Hawaii. Many businesses permanently had to close after 2020 protests. BLM protests. The kicker is that 1/2 the businesses damaged & forced to close, were black owned businesses.
Our homeless population has increased every year & seems unstoppable. “ Seattle is Dying” is a documentary from 5 years ago or so. It showed over $100,000 per homeless person , in services. I’m sure the cost is more now. This doesn’t include low term housing either. It’s an industry here, for the homeless, & the worst part is the programs don’t have to work. Obviously they don’t. Locals rarely go downtown anymore.
A beautiful city, gone. It’s still pretty but a lot of businesses have left. Disgusted with the criminal presence & police and government have no interest in enforcing laws. Once in awhile, a bunch of arrests are made at one Home Depot or Walgreen drug store. The criminals are all confused because they’ve taken things for months. They are processed and back in the street within 24 hours. Ridiculous! It’s so bad! People are taking law in their own hands and are shooting intruders . Saves time & costs of jail. The Chop zone was a blow to Washington as a whole. Mayor Jenny Durkan hates the police. When BLM took over the police station, the dumb cluck said “Seattle is fine. Don’t be so afraid of Democracy.” What an airhead! She has no idea we live in a republic. On the other hand maybe she was right that democracy is more about mob rule than government by the people. Portland is also run the same way. It looks so beautiful, but as you drive the freeways, homeless camps are under every overpass. They are making pallet homes for the vagrants in a town near where I live. This apparently is the new normal that Biden and others talked about.
Yah Portland has made it pretty comfortable for the homeless. My son went through a tough time & decided to go live in Portland ( homeless) for awhile. After a few weeks of not hearing from him , my husband & daughter went down to see if they could find him. They rented bikes on the river & off they went. The first charity that had “ free food” gave them a map of the city & said “ try following the food”. There was food available almost every hour of the day. At the 3rd place, they talked to a kid that knew our son. Ironically, he has a unique - believe it or not-
tattoo that the kid was sure it was sure it was him. Gave them directions, and V’oila! There he was. He didn’t come back right away but he did after about a week. Portland has had it extra bad but like Seattle, they make living homeless not so bad. Problem with that is these people never get the REAL help they need. Sometimes going to jail forces a detox that helps make clearer decisions. Helping them by providing supervised injection sites only prolongs their addiction & homelessness. It’s complicated and messy but what agencies are doing, isn’t working.

Where I live the majority of the population is more concerned about this weekend's NFL playoffs (as I live in one of the cities) and they'd quickly tune me out if I were to bring up this subject in light of that. I'd be more than open to anyone who has any suggestions as to how to mount a resistance.
Fear is a powerful motivator and proof of that is the number of medical professionals who took the vaccine. People were also taken advantage of them by saying you can have Covid without symptoms and pass it on to others. The lies were thick! It takes time to know what is truth and with censorship in science it is astonishing how many people really do understand what has happened throughout the pandemic and stood strong.
A people in fear is a people that are easily controlled and I won't lie when I say that I was, at the outset because I did not know some of the things I do, now. Also, I won't deny that there is still a fearful part of myself; not of a virus but of where this is leading and if and what that means for the future existence of humanity.

I can give a n example of the obliviousness of a lot of the public on this and their seeming disinterest. I live in a city of which are one of the final four participants in the NFL playoffs and I'd be apt to say that a great many are more interested in the NFL, Facebook 'likes' and Twitter feeds than what is affecting their lives and that, therein, lies the problem. People, to a large degree, are ingrained in their own little corners of the world and see nothing beyond themselves like the good readers and writers on these forums.
Yes, I would agree in certain instances. In others it is just their, as I alluded to, complete lack of concern for anything other than themselves. Case in point. A co-worker of mine, in his 50's, told me of a conversation he had with someone in their 30's who replied to the effect that 'you worry too much; there's nothing wrong with the country'. If that doesn't shout oblivious...
I could not agree more wholeheartedly. The saddest thing about that is we would have hoped (operative word) that something like this would not have occurred in the supposed 'land of the free and home of the brave'.
Personally, having been to the abyss of my own personal hell (depression, business failure, heart surgery and much more) I know what hopelessness feels like. But one thing I’ve learned is that this is all a movie. And the last act is always our own departure. I get to choose the part I play. I can just be a casual observer or become a participant. Every day counts; every moment there is an opportunity to bring something meaningful into this mess that we all were born into.
I’m starting to appreciate what true heroes had to go through - People like Joan of Arc, Galileo, Gandhi, Christ, MLK, JFK and so many others. They saw firsthand the evil but refused to accept that there was nothing they could do about it knowing full well the persecution and ignorance they would face. Steve K along with the the growing army of freedom fighters that have birthed as a response to the darkness and deceit are to be not just admired but joined in this holy war.
I don’t wish to sound like a cheerleader. But I know our greatest strength is in our hearts and in our numbers. The elites are small in number but they’re well organized and have a history of developing a plan to gain full advantage over the rest of us. And the world they are offering is unacceptable. We must unite and inspire others to join in. That’s the only we can make a difference.

When Oregon voted to pass legislation for recreationally pot and decriminalized drugs including meth and small amounts of heroin, it instantly became a magnet for violent criminals, and the homeless are targets for the criminals. The Founders would not be surprised, but they would be disappointed and slap us in the face while mocking us.
Personally, having been to the abyss of my own personal hell (depression, business failure, heart surgery and much more) I know what hopelessness feels like. But one thing I’ve learned is that this is all a movie. And the last act is always our own departure. I get to choose the part I play. I can just be a casual observer or become a participant. Every day counts; every moment there is an opportunity to bring something meaningful into this mess that we all were born into.
I’m starting to appreciate what true heroes had to go through - People like Joan of Arc, Galileo, Gandhi, Christ, MLK, JFK and so many others. They saw firsthand the evil but refused to accept that there was nothing they could do about it knowing full well the persecution and ignorance they would face. Steve K along with the the growing army of freedom fighters that have birthed as a response to the darkness and deceit are to be not just admired but joined in this holy war.
I don’t wish to sound like a cheerleader. But I know our greatest strength is in our hearts and in our numbers. The elites are small in number but they’re well organized and have a history of developing a plan to gain full advantage over the rest of us. And the world they are offering is unacceptable. We must unite and inspire others to join in. That’s the only we can make a difference.
I’ll end my little rant with this which a very wise man once told me - Without teamwork there is no hope for the human race.

I'd imagine that we have Hope which just happens to be one of the three theological virtues. IF...if one good thing has come from all of this evil is that I have had the opportunity to connect with a great many people of whom I would never have had the occasion to do were it not for this evil; as unfortunate as that is to say but, never the less, a blessing and I thank you all.
