I so agree. I wasn’t in the position to have my mother live with me. But she did have a ‘male’ friend that she met when she was in the ‘independent living’ part of the facility prior to her moving over to the assisted living building.

He visited her everyday out on her balcony. He stood outside on a ‘landing’ close to her balcony and they could hold hands. When they allowed people into the building who were vaxxed, he was able to go in everyday and see her. They were like Romeo and Juliet! 😉💓

Sounds like a true love story, they both were Blessed...and you in your remembrance of them. In years past I have direct knowledge of SNF's and ALF's from all sides. The single most important attribute for both those in the facilities and their families was being of the Faith. Having a personal relationship with God, and awareness of Scriptural Truths was and is indeed a saving grace. We think of love stories, Romeo and Juliet, the movie Love Story, and yet so many fail to know the greatest love story of all time. It's found in the New Testament and the Gospel message. Be in the Word. Theme from the "real" Love Story

Where do we begin

To tell the story of how great a love can be

The sweet love story that is older than the sea

The simple truth about the love He brings to me

Where do we start?

With His first hello

He gave a meaning to this empty world of mine

There'd never be another love another time

He came into my life and made the living fine

He fills my heart

He fills my heart with very special things

With angel songs, with wild imaginings

He fills my soul with so much love

That anywhere I go, I'm never lonely

With Him along who could be lonely?

I reach for His hand, it's always there

How long does it last

Can love be measured by the hours in a day

I have no answers now, but this much I can say

I know I'll need Him until the stars all burn away

And He'll be there

How long does it last

Can love be measured by the hours in a day

I have no answers now but this much I can say

I know I'll need Him 'til the stars all burn away

And He'll be there.
