Actually at 89 years old she died from Congestive Heart Failure. She was done.
I ‘spoke’ to my Mom an hour before she passed, mostly it was me who did all the talking.
I told her it was “ok to go”…to go find Dorsey (my Dad who has passed away at 57 in 1982) and “whoop it up” with him. As well as go to see her parents. I sang her some songs (we loved to sing) and mentioned everyone’s name in our immediate family…that each one of them loved her very much.
Years prior when we were working on her Advanced Healthcare Directive, one of the things she had written down was that at the end of her life she wanted to be able to “say goodbye to her family”. Well she got that wish. Then she peacefully passed away less than an hour after our ‘conversation’.
