The “You will own nothing” idea, in a Christian Utopia, might be ok. But for anyone who has studied ideas on building utopias, it is much like Marxism and or Socialism. It cannot hold together. It is cancelled by man’s sin. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.
America’s founders understood that without faith in God our peace and brotherhood collapse. Our moral underpinning is vague and unclear or even non-existent without dependence on a moral God. Someone on these blogs, don’t remember which, said if I kept preaching religion that I wouldn’t reach certain masses. They were not mean, I appreciated that but disagree with “religious”. I would respond, when Jesus spoke, it is obvious he didn’t worry about what “they” thought. He considered the heart of His Father. He wasn’t religious, He was God.
The only source of a moral absolute is God himself. Looking to His moral compass is the only way.
