I had studied a few martial arts and was in good shape as an auto mechanic. He and I did 3 compound fractures of the guys lead arm that he tried to punch me in the side of the head with. It took all of 2-3 seconds before his bum's rush down the stairs. It is YOUR adrenaline. Learn how to use it. The attacker's commitment to their aggressive move very soon becomes their downfall.

I still, 28 years later, do not know why the guy was on my front porch at 2AM looking in through my window and then attacking me. The proper reference term is to "neutralize" your attacker. Remain calm. The adrenaline shows up quickly. After the event, THEN you can be anxious and you can shake and shudder.
