The underlying problem with nuclear power generation is what to do with the waste materials. That has never been solved. Given the half life of uranium, nuclear waste is dangerous forever.
In the American West, too many prospective locations have been found to have . . . earthquake faults. A bad thing on which to build a nuclear plant. It was once said that the surefire way to find an earthquake fault is to build a nuclear plant.
Designing and building nuclear plants has apparently become a growth industry. Lots of money in search of something safe. Sure, and I've got a bridge for you.
Is anyone talking about where the uranium is going to come from? And why wouldn't increased demand not cause the price to rise?
I agree the sun and wind are not enough to generate electricity.
It seems to me that the last thing we should be doing is finding more uses for electricity.
We will be best served by finding ways to reduce our electricity consumption.
I for one have no plans to acquire an electric-powered car. I'm satisfied with my gasoline-powered car.
