MeriBear - sadly, this is usually what happens. I woke my cousin up with the book by Edward Dowd, Cause Unknown. We were once so very close. Now I never hear from him. 😢

People don’t want to know they were wrong, especially when it impacts big beliefs. My dad was like that with his religion. Flatly told me he didn’t want to know. He said that leaving it would “disappoint his family.” People stay in their illusions for many reasons. I am in the camp if, “the unexamined life is not worth living.” Most people prefer their comfort zones.
