Paul Offit is trying to gaslight you. Here are the facts.
Paul Offit wrote a Substack article in response to the RFK Jr. Rogan interview. I was not impressed. Not one bit. Here's the counterpoint to what he wrote that everyone should know.
Executive summary
Finally, 20 years later, Paul Offit responds to RFK Jr’s allegations by writing a Substack to clear the air.
I read his article but I was not impressed. The gaslighting of America continues. Offit presented a very one-sided view of the evidence by ignoring all the evidence that disputes what he said.
Isn’t it time to set the record straight?
Namely, I claim:
Offit tried to mislead Kennedy but was caught in a lie
Thimerosal causes autism
MMR causes autism
RFK Jr. was right on both two issues
The above issues are the elephants in the room
Offit is afraid to debate RFK Jr. live on Rogan. But he won’t do it because he’d be destroyed by the facts.

Other reviews on Paul Offit’s Substack article
James Lyons-Weiler’s review (Substack article). He sums up the points for each at the end of the article: +300 for RFK, -300 for Offit.
My review
I’m going to address the biggest elephants in the room to keep this article to a manageable size.
The biggest elephant in the room: Offit deliberately tried to mislead RFK Jr. and he doesn’t deny it in his rebuttal
Offit used the Pichichero study to tell Kennedy that the thimerosal was cleared from the blood rapidly. But he deliberately avoided telling Kennedy where the thimerosal went! He didn’t deny this in his Substack!
Do you know where that mercury went?
The reason it disappeared from the blood so fast is that thimerosal crossed the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to make a fast beeline into the brain where it basically deposits forever.
As James Lyons-Weiler wrote on his Substack, “It lasts so long in the brain with such low clearance that, unlike mercury from methylmercury, it was not possible to calculate a clearance rate.”
Here’s another paper which says: “Brain concentrations of inorganic mercury were approximately twice as high in the thimerosal group compared to the methylmercury group. Inorganic mercury remains in the brain much longer than organic mercury, with an estimated half-life of more than a year. It’s not currently known whether inorganic mercury presents any risk to the developing brain.”
How could Offit not have told RFK this? Offit knew about the study, but he didn’t mention it. That’s why Offit went radio silent when RFK asked him about it.
This is a common problem with Paul: he only gives you the studies that support his beliefs.
Even in his Substack article today, Paul excludes all credible evidence that goes against his beliefs as you’ll see next.
Paul claims thimerosal doesn’t cause autism. No way.
Paul wrote, “He [RFK] claimed that thimerosal in vaccines had caused autism, when several studies had shown that it hadn’t.”
This is bullshit.
There are bad studies done all the time. Studies designed not to find a signal will fail to find a signal.
The single most important study with Thimerosal and autism is the study done by CDC scientist Thomas Verstraeten. Pay no attention to the final gamed study co-authored by Frank DeStefano. DeStefano is the “CDC fixer” and any paper with his name on it has been doctored.
The Verstraeten Study was the first study the CDC carried out to examine the association between thimerosal and neurodevelopmental outcomes including autism due to public outcry.
CDC scientist Thomas Verstraeten did a study in 1999 linking thimerosal with autism. The original signal was a RR=7.6 which is a huge signal. They tried to make the autism signal go away. They couldn’t. Look at the subject line of this email; the body points out that they are unable to use statistical tricks to get the outcome they need to gaslight the public. Their job at the CDC is to make the data fit the narrative.
See my article on Simpsonwood for details and links to the original Verstraeten study and the revisions.
Some of the major concerns included:
many of the statistical analyses were carried out post-hoc after an initial set of analyses were run,
the study protocol evolved over time,
the CDC did not share many of the internal study findings with individuals and constituents outside the CDC
the final paper didn’t acknowledge any of these analyses.
In short, this is corruption at its finest and there is no possible way Paul Offit wouldn’t know the whole story.
Paul’s article cites studies that thimerosal doesn’t cause autism. One tiny issue: the page he references contains no such studies
In his Substack article, Offit wrote:
He claimed that thimerosal in vaccines had caused autism, when several studies had shown that it hadn’t.
I checked the page. There are no studies on that page showing thimerosal doesn’t cause autism.
Nothing like hoping the readers don’t read the papers you cite, isn’t it.
All of Offit’s readers were completely fooled by this. Not a single one pointed out the error.
MMR and autism
The elephant in the room is whether the MMR vaccine causes autism and in general, whether vaccines cause autism and other chronic diseases.
Did you notice that Offit ignores this issue entirely in his article?
If you want to study whether or not vaccines cause autism, there is a trivial way to do that which I outline in this article.
Nobody wants to do that study. It’s never been published in a peer-reviewed journal.
So I did the study informally with 10,000 parents and the results were devastating.
Nobody on the other side wants to do a study like that. Just folks on our side.
The debate challenge
I’ve asked Offit if he would debate RFK on Rogan on the same terms as the Hotez offer.
Here are the places I asked so you can see the lack of response:
Paul’s substack article on debates (debate offer as well as calling him to ask for data transparency)
Data transparency
None of these people have ever called for data transparency.
You don’t have to think twice on that one.
Anyone not calling for data transparency of public health data is not your friend.
Corollary: Paul Offit is not your friend. He wants the data hidden.
What do you think?
Summary
Paul Offit’s job is to defend the government narrative and his reputation.
He knows vaccines cause autism.
Come on. I have $5M backing anyone who wants to bet against me on this. If Paul is so certain, he’d call my bet and double his wager. Instantly.
You can place your $10,000 or larger wager here if you think I’m wrong. It’s a sure win if you trust Paul.
Want to see how much money is backing the government narrative that vaccines cause autism? Click here. Last I checked, it was zero.
Bottom line: Offit knows RFK Jr. is right. He’s not going to debate him on that. But he’ll try to fool the public into thinking RFK is wrong. Big mistake. The first rule of holes is when you find yourself in one, stop digging.
Thimerosal has been removed from vaccines (except flu) and yet autism rates are increasing. Isnt this correct?
I have just come across this clip of Steve on Brighteon. If you've not seen it, please watch and share far and wide.
