A big problem that we have today is that more and more physicians are simply employees of large medical “industries“ like hospitals. It wasn’t that long ago that the majority of physicians were essentially self employed. As employees of a corporation, it’s far more easy to penalize them if they step out of line. It would be interesting to note how many of the self-employed physicians are willing to speak out. I’m afraid that even for them, there might be external pressure from insurers who ultimately pay their bills via the patients they see.
The answer -- as for almost everything these days -- is to decentralize, and put autonomy back in the hands of patients and physicians, and let them decide what's the best treatment, without involving the current centralized, monopolistic pharma-based structures.
For a stark look at how corporate administrators control their medical staff, I recommend the book, "If I Betray These Words" - Moral Injury in Medicine & Why It's So Hard for Clinicians to Put Patients First, by Wendy Dean, MD.
You’re right and for that reason the entire practice of becoming a doctor means becoming indoctrinated by a corrupt institution driven by profit instead of science. Doctors can fix things like hernias, broken arms, heart valves, wounds and other things when they go wrong, but I learned about 21 years ago to NEVER use them for screenings, preventative medicine and general advice on health and nutrition. That’s looking for trouble and becoming a lifelong patient.
Far too many people won’t listen. It’s a common human characteristic, that we wish to avoid contemplating things that may not have the outcome that we want. A lot of people foolishly feel that they can get “free“ health care, and then it will continue to be the kind that they remember from 30 or 40 or more years ago! the reality is the quality of what we will get will go downhill, and increasingly the “healthcare providers” will give you the termination of those of us who are two unwell to fix as a viable option. That viable option will be officially sanctioned. Of course.
Indeed!!! Not just that, but the closer will get to official “assisted suicide“. In Canada, the “country” that were supposed to be envious of! 😂 suicide is the third leading cause of death . And you are hearing of more doctors in Canada who proudly announce how many people they have “assisted“ in dying….. increasingly, we’re not going to want to go to a hospital
That is very sad. Justin and Klauss and Bill Gates are probably glad for that in order to remove those unneeded unproductive humans from the fragile earth which has been 5 years from catastrophic end-of-world crisis - since the 1970's.
