Dr. Neil Nedley has been doing just that for 3 decades.

Love HIM! I found him on an adventist channel interview and ordered a book about depression. It's all about healing yourself and staying in the pre-frontal cortex! that is where worship occurs...where you connect with God, as opposed to getting incited into hatred from the news/politics/road rage etc. Diet/exercise/sleep all are the most important aspects to get yourself into a receptive healthy place to find God's goodness. I'm not there, but I do exercise daily and eat healthy 70%, I have a drinking problem still and I'm 100% turning that over to God daily. I'm learning to worship instead of taking on lifes battles alone.

I have a friendly relationship with alcohol which, at one point, was becoming altogether too friendly.

I've substantially eliminated it (no cravings, no desire) through:

* Superior nutrition (whole foods -- organic fruits and vegetables; grass-fed and grass-finished meats, etc., etc.)

* Nutritional Supplements

* Daily brisk walking

A program that has made it easy for me to skip alcohol WITHOUT MISSING IT is The Alcohol Experiment which you can find at this link:

I think you'll find that the approach really works.

Here's one woman's real-life experience with it:

That’s really

great. You may have already heard this but many, many alcoholics and “sub-alcoholics”— if there is such a thing, suffer from a few common nutritional deficits. B vitamins are crucial to feeling WELL and “level”. The number of alcoholics with clinically low levels of B is huge. Drinking depletes B and lacking enough B can trigger urges to drink. Vicious cycle… A GOOD B vitamin is crucial as is eating leafy greens and whatever makes B— which is easily searched.

Selenium is also lacking in people who drink a lot. It used to be plentiful in potatoes and other veg but we’ve raped the soil, used Round Up and we never give the soil a “resting year”.

I say all this not in a preachy way whatsoever. I discovered it in an OLD book and told a few of my family members. They seemed to feel it helped. There are other, “woo woo” things out there for serious addiction, like KRATOM, but I can’t speak to that, first hand. We bought it and gave it away to people we

knew that needed it. The few that used it seemed to really think it helped matters.

Many areas of the US have selenium deficient soil and the hay grown on these soils lack selenium. Farmers need to supplement their livestock in these areas. The USDA has information on the selenium deficient areas.

Yep! We have a horse right now with Osteoarthritis. I’m convinced it’s bc the soil is crap. Trying to help him nutrition and my “woo-woo” stuff.

Kratom has been a godsend for me. Helps with mood and pain. Been using it for 7 years.

how do you get it and in what form?

Comes as a powder, I put in capsules, cause it tastes awful. It's made from a leaf that is cut, dried, and ground up.

A long time friend. He has the best prices and tests everything. It comes in white (energy), green (nice medium strain), and red (analgesic) strains. He can send you a sample collection. Name is Dan.

thank you! I actually take b1 at bedtime b/c it is depleted in alcoholism. And you are right! Many of the urges ARE from simple deficiencies in minerals/supplements, thank you for pointing that out. I read 'the easy way to control alcohol' by Allen Carr...one year ago and took many notes, it is an amazingly simple read and honestly there is a lot of biblical truth woven into it (but you'll only notice that if you are a believer and a disciple of the Word). I feel sad for the MANY Greats who struggled in past generations with no knowledge...C.S.Lewis, he drank and smoked himself to an early death (64, my father died at 62...same drinking). Simply ignorance and no knowledge of the simple mechanism of addiction. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Blessings to all from the Father who loves all, even the confused.
