I don't use a phone much, never take it with me and when home I park it somewhere away from my desk. Check out TracFone. No contracts. You can buy your minutes by the year, but you need to use one of their phones. The downside is that if you don't use all your minutes they expire after the year is up. I recently forgot to pay TracFone, so I lost my phone number. That was a couple months ago and I haven't bothered to renew it yet.
