AT&T phone reps are required to be vaccinated even though they work from home
I talked to an AT&T phone rep who has been working from home since March 2020. AT&T requires all such workers who work exclusively at home (and are never in the office) to be fully vaccinated.
If you are an AT&T phone rep who has been working from home since the start of the pandemic, AT&T requires you to be fully vaccinated to continue your employment (religious or medical exemptions are available).
Also, the union sided with the company in requiring vaccination for employees who work 100% at home.
The only possible explanation for such a requirement is that AT&T believes that the virus can be transmitted over the phone lines.
I would love to see that data on that one.
It would be great to have a huge list of mandate/no mandate businesses.
I worked at Avanade and its parent company is owned by Accenture and Microsoft. About a week after the mandate from Biden in Sept 2021 they sent out an email saying we would all be required to be vaccinated even if we work from home.
FUCK THAT!
Well I started looking for another job. I am a software engineer.
Around Nov I finally found another one but for the heck of it I decided to enter a religious exemption at the last minute just to see what would happen even though I know whatever would happen I would still leave!
I made sure I used the Viva Barnes model of don't associate yourself with an actual religion just keep it to your own idea. Since they can't discriminate an idea that comes from a person's morals vs an ideology that comes from a religious group. The trap is tying yourself to a religious group since every religious group nowadays has a leader that is pro vaccine which is dumb.
I said I was against the vaccine makers using fetal cells to make the vaccine and that was it.
They followed up with an email to answer questions which I answered.
The religious exemption got approved mainly because they could not deny it based on any logical legal reason.
It was approved on conditional basis only which means I could not ever come to the office and had to stay 100% remote.
That was bullshit as it is a form of segregation
I decided to stay there long enough to collect my PTO during Xmas break which at the same time I started my new job 100% remote! yeah baby!
Then once I got all of the PTO they owed me in Jan of 2021 I resigned and had the exit interview
I didn't burn any bridges just was super thankful for the great opportunity but also said it was wrong to mandate a vaccine and you might not see it now but someday you will see how wrong it is
Later that month the Supreme Court ruled the Biden mandate was DUMB and they had to stop it. DUH!!!!!
Anyway I am not complaining because my new job at the time was about 35% more money!
Also the rest of the world is NOT doing this mandate bullshit. I interviewed with around 30+ software places and nobody at that has a concern
In-fact the new job offer I asked them if this was going to be an issue and the lady asked the legal department. They said that the Biden mandate did NOT affect remote workers.
This made me realize that Avanade, Accenture and Microsoft took it upon themselves to actually raise the bar of what the Biden mandate actually was.
so they should just leave AT&T and go elsewhere and it is probably guaranteed that if it is 100% remote they will NOT be having a vaccine mandate as usually only the wokest companies raise the bar on what the mandate should be
The Biden mandate is not even around anymore so any company doing that is a minority and if you leave and go elsewhere then it will only hurt the company which is what we want since any company that would mandate that is a bad company anyway especially at this point in time.
