A simple way to end censorship on social media
Pass a law entitling the poster to sue large social media companies for $25,000 for each instance of censorship of truth or opinion.
Today’s social media companies are the new town square.
Shouldn’t we be able to post messages to our own followers on these platforms? Of course! Those followers are our followers because they opted in to hear our opinions. So why are the social media companies stepping in to “protect” our followers from the very people that they SAID they wanted to hear from?
Suppose you could sue them for $25,000 + your attorney’s fees for every message that you post that they remove (or force you to remove) that is clearly either opinion or truthful. And suppose you could sue them for $250,000 + your attorney’s fees if they remove your account and can only cite posts that are either opinion or truthful.
Do you think there would be censorship anymore?
I doubt it.
Let me know what you think of this idea.
While it’s a good idea, we’ve got to get one thing clear. Politicians won’t do anything that cuts away at their sponsors support. Sponsors are two main groups. Commercial enterprises & spooks. I’m no longer sure they can be categorised as two groups at all.
There’s zero chance they’d do this.
Not unless in every location we stand candidates well suited to the task & who really do not want it. Anyone who wants to be a politician is immediately deeply suspect.
Cynical? Look around you. If you know one really honourable politicians, they’re remarkable because they’re so rare.
Careful now, you are supporting the common man, the enemy of every communist government. ;-)
