I have this illness since 1999, and 2x vaxxed rendered it so aggressive (platelets always dropping below 10, for not apparent reason, even on 50mg of prednisone), I had to be put on sick leave for a year, trying to keep my alive and control this problem. Only being treated w 75 mg prednisone would keep my platelets up (around 80). Now after 1.5 years, it seems to be better, but I am on a $10k per month medication (tavalisse) to maintain my platelets, or else it would be high doses of corticosteroids and a short lifespan.
I am a 42 year old female with Evans Syndrome (combo of ITP and autoimmune hemolytic anemia) and SLE (lupus). Both were well controlled w treatment cycle once per year, since 1999.
I need one blood test per week since approx. Aug 2021 to make sure my platelets don't crash (they can drop from 100 to 3 in as little as 4 days). I am now (FINALLY) stable w platelets in the 200s.
I find it strange that not many people mention ITP as a vax side effet, as there are not more than 80 papers published on this since 2021. I know that the early ITP cases in 2021 I saw in the media (after I took it.) most died from severe ITP.
